Scheduled from September 26 to January 4, the initiative will encompass a wide range of activities across the state, including cultural celebrations, entertainment programming, international sporting events, and hospitality-driven experiences.

The agenda features several key components, such as “Skills Up Lagos,” a program dedicated to youth empowerment. Other highlights include curated cultural showcases, sports competitions, and landmark entertainment events developed in collaboration with restaurants, venues, and cultural partners.

Aregbe noted that this initiative directly supports the broader vision of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, which aims to diversify the economy, elevate the state’s cultural narrative, and grow its international tourism sector.

He said, “Our goal is to enrich the lives of Lagos residents, increase trade between tourists and their hosts, and build bridges through sports and culture with countries around the world.”

The ministry also revealed that the initiative would promote Lagos’ daytime economy, foster global cultural partnerships, and attract year-round visitors.

Aregbe stressed that the project marked a bold step in redefining Lagos’ tourism landscape, adding that the government was determined to make the state a hub for cultural and entertainment seekers across Africa.

On Wednesday, the state government announced plans to host the Lagos Cultural Weekend 2025 from November 14 to 16, a three-day festival designed to showcase the city’s rich traditions while driving economic opportunities.

In a similar development, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde unveiled a new blueprint for tourism development in the state on Thursday, titled “Tourism Reset Agenda.”.

This initiative aimed to remove bottlenecks, attract investors, and transform the sector into a self-sustaining economy.
