Themed “Buy, Eat, Party,” the festival will be held from April 24th to 26th, 2025, across three locations in the state: Lagoon Restaurant, Victoria Island; Anuoluwapo Fish Market, Law School, Victoria Island; and Oluwo Fish Market, Epe.
The Lagos Seafood Festival promotes culinary tourism by preserving the city’s rich seafood trade. The festival also aims to reestablish Lagos’ position as one of West Africa’s top maritime hubs by tapping a synergy between business and sustainability.
According to Idris Aregbe, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, the Lagos Seafood Festival “is beyond a festivity. It is a celebration of our heritage and a strategic opportunity for the seafood industry in Lagos.”

Aregbe stated that the initiative is a unique medium for celebrating Lagos’ Indigenous lifestyle while empowering seafood businesses and boosting the economy. “We will empower seafood merchants, attract international buyers, and amplify Lagos’ maritime story,” Aregbe promised.
The Lagos seafood festival aligns with the state government’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ agenda to position Lagos as a global tourism and business hub while fostering economic growth in the seafood sector. “The Lagos Seafood Festival is a strategic campaign to promote and reecho Lagos as an aquatic splendour, market the seafood industry and support sustainable businesses”, Aregbe stated.
