Exploring Shawarma and Grills: Menu, Pricing and Reviews

“Shawarma and Grills,” located in the heart of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, is a beloved dining spot celebrated for its mouthwatering shawarma and expertly grilled dishes.

This blog post provides everything you need to know about the restaurant, including its location, operating hours, diverse menu, pricing details, seating arrangements, and insights from customer reviews.

Shawarma and Grills Location

“Shawarma and Grills” boasts three convenient locations across Jos, Plateau State, with branches in Rantya (Low-Cost), Rayfield, and British America. These strategically placed outlets make the restaurant easily accessible to customers.

I had the pleasure of visiting the British America branch in 2019, thanks to a friend who insisted on treating me to an unforgettable dining experience. True to their word, the visit exceeded my expectations, leaving a lasting impression.

Opening Hours

“Shawarma and Grills” is open on Mondays – Fridays for 24 hours and from 10 am – 7 pm on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).

These opening hours are subject to management change at any point in time.

Menu and Pricing

On my first visit to Shawarma and Grills, I decided to try their fried rice, chicken, and a soft drink.

The restaurant has a policy that prohibits bringing in outside food, which ensures every meal served is fresh and aligned with their standards.

I was impressed by their generosity, especially with the chicken portion—it was sizable and satisfying. The entire meal cost an affordable ₦1,500 at the time.

The ambience of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with soft music playing in the background and décor that struck a perfect balance between modern and cosy.

The waitstaff was exceptionally friendly, greeting guests with bright smiles and ensuring everyone felt comfortable from the moment they walked in. Their attentiveness added a special touch to the dining experience.

During my most recent visit, I noticed some changes. I ordered the same dish as before, but the price had increased to about ₦3,500, which is understandable given the current economic shifts in Nigeria and still affordable.

While the price change was notable, the quality and taste of the meal remained top-notch, reinforcing why this spot is a favourite for many.

Their Shawarma, a delicious Middle Eastern-inspired wrap filled with a medley of seasoned meat, fresh vegetables, and creamy sauces, is another highlight.

It’s priced between ₦3,500 and ₦5,000, depending on the size and ingredients. The rich, flavorful aroma of the Shawarma fills the air as it’s freshly prepared, and each bite delivers a burst of authentic, savoury goodness.

Overall, Shawarma and Grills combines exceptional service, a welcoming atmosphere, and delicious meals that make every visit memorable. It’s a place where you can relax, indulge, and enjoy a satisfying dining experience.

Seating Capacity

“Shawarma and Grills” offer both indoor and outdoor seating options, thoughtfully designed to cater to various dining preferences. Inside, you’ll find cosy tables that comfortably seat 4 to 5 people, perfect for families looking to enjoy a delightful meal together.

The outdoor seating area provides a charming and intimate setting, ideal for couples planning a casual date or even a memorable double date.

While the dining space is relatively modest compared to larger establishments, it creates an inviting atmosphere with the capacity to host 15 to 20 guests at a time, making it feel exclusive and personal.

In addition to its seating arrangements, the restaurant goes the extra mile to accommodate diverse tastes and preferences.

They offer vegan-friendly dishes for those seeking plant-based options and a thoughtfully curated kids’ menu to cater to younger diners, ensuring everyone in the family feels welcome.

Feel free to visit any of their branches in the city of Jos.

Uzoma Adebayo (rating ⅘ stars) said: “It’s a nice place but very small sized. Can only take about 20 people max and because so many people come there, it takes a while to have your order processed. They work better when you pre-order on their social media handle. Their shawarma is actually the best in Jos”

Makcit Ridap (rating ⅘ stars) wrote: “It’s been a while since I was last here, but I make an effort to have lunch here whenever I’m in Jos. One has changed over the years is customer service. It’s inconsistent, but I have no issues with their food.

I had pasta and gizzard sauce the last time and it was great. I love pepper, but this was quite hot. Wait time isn’t too long and with 2k you can have a very good meal. You can still have a good meal for less 😁”

Blac Aboki (rating ⅘ stars) said: “Great service, a very nice place to spend time with loved ones if you’re in Jos.”

Sylvester Nanjul (rating ⅘ stars) wrote: “I would highly recommend this place for people who want to check out some of the best entries in Jos, Plateau State. Good food, nice service and a friendly price range too. They are trying.”
