The AniMatters Musical Competition, now in its second edition, promises to be an extraordinary event that celebrates young musical talent in honour of the late Anita Nobi. The AniMatters Musical Competition is designed to uncover and celebrate rising talent while providing invaluable exposure to aspiring musicians. “Anita believed music could heal and inspire, much like her work in nursing,” says Taurus Nobi. “We aim to create a space that showcases these artists and connects them with the wider music industry. This competition is about more than just winning—nurturing passion and fostering community.”
The auditions are set for November 7th and 8th, 2024, drawing participants from various backgrounds eager to take their music to the next level. The excitement surrounding the auditions is palpable as contestants look forward to performing for a panel of judges, including industry experts, mentors, and past participants. Auditions are a crucial part of the competition as they highlight a diversity of musical styles, genres, and approaches, which was a central aspect of Anita’s vision.
For those fortunate to progress past auditions, the journey culminates in the Grand Finale on December 17th, 2024, hosted at The Dreams Lounge. This highly anticipated event will feature live performances from finalists, each bringing their unique sound and energy to the stage. With its intimate setting and excellent acoustics, the Dreams Lounge provides the ideal backdrop for artists to share their talents with a live audience, including fellow musicians, community members, and esteemed guests.
