FAAN Urges Bauchi to Leverage Tourism for Increased Domestic Flights

On Friday, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) advised the Bauchi State Government to enhance the state’s tourism potential to attract increased domestic flight operations.

FAAN made this known through its representative, Lawan Bako, while speaking to reporters at the launch of the Rano Air flight from Bauchi to Abuja.

Bako emphasised that “Bauchi State has a lot of tourism attractions.

“The Yankari Game Reserve, for example, has all it takes to be an international tourism centre, but Bauchi State must improve it to be more accommodating.”

According to the FAAN representative, improving tourist attractions in Bauchi, such as the Yankari Game Reserve, will attract more flights, keeping the airport in business and generating more revenue for the state.

As reported by Punch News, the Managing Director of MD Rano Airlines, Lawan Sabo, announced that the airline now operates in eight states of the federation, including Bauchi State.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed thanked the Managing Director for selecting Bauchi State. He assured him that his administration has resolved all significant challenges in the aviation sector to ensure the sustainability of flight operations from Rano.”

The governor pledged to do everything possible to ensure smooth airline operations in Bauchi State.

“We are aware of the challenges facing the aviation industry, and we pledge to do everything in our power to make your business in Bauchi State profitable and provide an opportunity to expand and thrive.

“To the airlines operating on this route, I call upon you to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, punctuality, and consistency.

“Building trust and confidence among passengers is essential for the success of your operations,” he remarked.

Bala also appreciated the regulatory agencies under the Federal Ministry of Aviation for their support in maintaining Bauchi Airport to global standards.
