Nigeria Immigration Launches New Digital CERPAC Application Platform

by Familugba Victor

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is set to launch a new digital platform for the Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card (CERPAC) application process, effective August 1. This initiative aims to modernise the application system, making it more efficient, transparent, and accessible.

The announcement was made by the Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), Assistant Comptroller of Immigration (ACI), Mr. Akinsola Akinlabi, on Wednesday in Abuja. He stated that this move aligns with the Federal Government’s ongoing reforms to enhance NIS services.

The new online portal, accessible at https://cerpac.immigration.gov.ng, will allow applicants to submit their CERPAC applications entirely online, eliminating the need for physical forms. As of August 1, physical CERPAC forms will no longer be accepted.

“All CERPAC applications after July 31 must be submitted solely through the online portal, ‘’ he said.

This digital transition is expected to significantly improve the user experience and streamline the application process for both individuals and organisations responsible for expatriates.

Applicants who have already paid for their CERPAC forms but have not yet submitted them are strongly advised to do so by July 31. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the loss of their application status and associated payments.

Similarly, individuals and companies with pending submissions are strongly encouraged to complete all processes within the stipulated timeline to avoid any inconvenience.

“Any form not submitted before the deadline will be rendered void and invalid.

“All enquiries and correspondence related to this transition should be directed to the service through the office of the Public Relations Officer,” he said.

The NIS reaffirms its commitment to providing more efficient and technology-driven immigration services that align with global best practices.
