The World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) 2024 worldwide summit, held in Perth, Western Australia, concluded with the announcement that Rome, the capital of Italy, will host the 2025 WTTC Global Summit.
Italy’s historic heartland, the seat of ancient empires and cultural riches, will host the Global Summit for the first time in 2025.

One of the most popular places in the world, the city of Italy, will host the Global Summit. During this event, corporate executives and government delegations from all over the world will gather to discuss the sector’s most recent challenges and future solutions.
It is planned that the 25th Global Summit, which will take place in the latter half of the year 2025, will be conducted in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Tourism. After a lapse of six years, this event will signal a notable return to Europe throughout the subsequent time.
The World Trade and Tourism Council Global Summit 2019 was held in Seville, Spain. Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, addressed the delegates.
After the summit, held in Perth, Western Australia, about one hundred journalists from all over the world and approximately eight hundred delegates from more than 150 countries were present.

During the summit held by the global tourism body, participants shared their thoughts on the urgent environmental challenges currently being faced worldwide and tourism’s role in addressing these challenges. Notable individuals such as John Kerry, who served as the 68th Secretary of State of the United States, and Robert Irwin, considered one of the most prominent conservationists in Australia, were among those who participated in the summit.

The most recent figures from Environmental and Social Research (ESR), released by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in Perth, indicate that emissions associated with the travel and tourism industry have drastically decreased.
According to the most recent figures, the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions was reduced by more than eight per cent during the same period, despite the industry’s economic contribution to global GDP virtually approaching levels before the pandemic in the previous year.
This not only demonstrates that the sector is making a comeback; it also indicates that it is increasing at a more environmentally friendly rate than in the past.
During the summit, the transport and tourism industry in Oceania was also highlighted, contributing to the establishment of a foundation for ongoing discourse and innovation in Rome. Several significant issues and expansion strategies on a global scale were also discussed.
